Recertification Standard / Intermediate First Aid CPR

Recertification Standard / Intermediate First Aid CPR is a one-day program designed for individuals who currently hold a valid Standard First Aid & CPR certification issued by an Alberta OHS approved training agency. This recertification course provides a comprehensive review of the essential modules required for first aid certification, while offering a unique training concept focused on practical applications and scenarios. Unlike traditional courses, our program emphasizes hands-on experience and interactive learning, allowing participants to respond to mock-scenarios with “live injured people”. The engaging and motivating environment sets this course apart from others!

Our recertification course meets the requirements of CSA Z1210-17, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Learning Objectives:

• Recognize life-threatening injuries and provide appropriate intervention until medical aid arrives.
• Demonstrate artificial respiration techniques to assist individuals in respiratory distress.
• Learn proper procedures to aid a choking victim and prevent further harm.
• Effectively handle situations involving shock, unconsciousness, and severe bleeding.
• Apply first aid techniques for head and spinal injuries.
• Respond to fractures of upper and lower limbs using appropriate procedures.
• Perform CPR on a casualty in accordance with established guidelines.
• Demonstrate the correct use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for cardiac emergencies.

Competencies:

Participants are required to complete a written competency check, achieving a minimum 75% score, to obtain a pass mark. Additionally, successful demonstration of province-specific practical skill(s) required for certification is mandatory.  Upon successful completion, students will be issued a training certificate valid for three (3) years. Please note that certificates are non-transferable.

CPR LEVEL C CAN BE ADDED ON TO ANY FIRST AID CLASS AT NO CHARGE (PLEASE LET THE INSTRUCTOR KNOW AT THE BEGINNING OF CLASS), OR YOU CAN UPGRADE TO CPR LEVEL C WITHIN 90 DAYS OF COMPLETING FIRST AID FOR AN ADDITIONAL $35.00 - PLEASE CALL 403-934-5046 TO REQUEST

CANCELLATION POLICY: No shows will be Charged the full course fee. Full Course fee will be charged unless cancelled 5 business days prior to course. Certification of training will not be released until payment for the course has been submitted. 

RESCHEDULING POLICY: Training will be rescheduled to another available class and must be taken place within 6 months. If the training has not taken place within 6 months of the original start date Global Training Centre will consider the class cancelled by you and all deposits, fees and remaining balance will be forfeited.
