Fall Protection for the Active User

Our one-day Fall Protection for the Active User program is designed to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to eliminate or mitigate fall hazards and ensure workplace safety. The program emphasizes considerations and implementation of systems and safe work practices to instill a proactive approach to fall protection. Participants will learn about the responsibilities of both employers and workers, as well as the regulations and standards that apply when working at heights.

• Understand the need for fall protection training.
• Learn how to use and care for fall protection equipment.
• Familiarize yourself with the regulations governing fall protection in Canada.
• Recognize the human and financial costs of not using fall protection correctly.
• Identify the four components of a complete fall protection system.
• Acquire the calculations required for determining minimum clearance requirements.
• Understand the maintenance and use criteria for fall protection equipment.
• Learn about different types of fall protection systems.
• Explore the requirements for developing a fall protection program.
• Gain knowledge of post-fall and rescue planning.
• Apply learned knowledge to create and use appropriate fall protection systems.

Competencies:

The competencies of this program are assessed through a knowledge-based examination and full participation in the program. Participants must achieve a minimum passing mark of 70% on the written competency exam. Additionally, participants will undergo a practical skills evaluation to demonstrate their competence.

Upon successful completion, students will be issued a training certificate valid for three (3) years. Please note that certificates are non-transferable.

PRE-REQS: None

PPE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THIS CLASS: Steel-toed boots, hard hat, gloves, coveralls, safety glasses

CANCELLATION POLICY:  No-shows will be charged the full course fee. Full Course fee will be charged unless cancelled 5 business days prior to course. Certification of training will not be released until payment for the course has been submitted. 

RESCHEDULING POLICY: Training will be rescheduled to another available class and must be taken place within 6 months. If the training has not taken place within 6 months of the original start date Global Training Centre will consider the class cancelled by you and all deposits, fees and remaining balance will be forfeited.
