Basic Confined Space Entry
This half-day scenario based practicum program is part two of the confined space series. Participants receive advanced means and knowledge to safely retrieve fallen workers, and is aimed at training rescue teams or personnel working in confined spaces. The emphasis is placed on equipment and techniques that enable them to quickly implement an efficient rescue in a variety of possible situations. Topics covered and practiced are rescue procedures and planning, as well as the sequence of events and rescue equipment needed by both the rescuer and casualties.

Learning Objectives
- Understand and is able to demonstrate as part of a team, the proper job planning required prior to entering a confined space
- Able to plan the Emergency Response and demonstrate the procedure for a confined space
- Understand and able to plan, as part of a team, proper gas testing requirements for a confined space
- Understand and able to plan and demonstrate an effective communication method as part of a team member in a confined space
- Understand the physical and psychological limitations of any personnel entering a confined space
- Properly demonstrate donning of Self Contained Breathing Apparatus
- Demonstrate proper body technique in a confined space
- Is able to demonstrate the ability to enter a confined space without demonstrating any physical or psychological limitations
- Able to select and demonstrate proper utilization of equipment for both the rescuer and the casualties in the confined space

Objectives for this course are obtained through 100% participation. Therefore, the candidate must be physically and mentally able to perform the tasks.
